How did you & Hunter meet?

Hunter and I met while I was finishing up grad school in Jacksonville. He moved back after graduating college and I had become friends with some of his group from high school. We became very good friends and eventually took the leap to start dating.

Where was your first date?

Hunter will say that our first date was at our beach club where we went for drinks. I still say that we were just two friends going to drinks, and that our first date was when he asked me to dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.

What was your wedding dress shopping experience like?

I had an idea of what I was looking for and none of the dresses I tried on seemed to fit that picture in my mind. Once I walked into The Bridal Finery I could tell that it was going to be a completely different experience. Tali knew my style from my Instagram and was suggesting dresses that made me feel like myself. I fell in love with the perfect dress all thanks to Tali’s patience, styling, and advice. It was really the best experience!

How did Hunter propose?

Hunter took me to one of our most favorite places to be together, a hunting property in South Carolina. There is the most beautiful oak tree that sits near the water with a stunning view. We had talked about how we would love to be married there or incorporate it into our love story in some way. When a trip we had planned got cancelled, Hunter took me to South Carolina and we went on a “walk” before dinner down near the beautiful oak tree. Little did I know that would be the best walk ever!

What bridal accessory was your favorite?

My favorite accessory would be the necklace that my mom and dad surprised me with on our wedding day. It repurposed my mom’s diamond from the wedding ring to my dad that she has worn for 34 years, and counting. It’s something that I got to cherish that day, and will cherish forever.

What do you love most about Amelia Island?

The Ritz Carlton made our wedding the most perfect event. Everyone was so attentive and kind at the resort. We were able to combine a ballroom and beach wedding to create the perfect aesthetic for our wedding that fits our personalities perfectly.

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?

I wish I knew that there may come a time where planning slows down, and to use that time for things you may push to the end. If you can finish printed napkins, koozies, etc. ahead of time, DO IT!!

What was your wedding color palette?

Neutral, Champagne, White, Greenery

How would you describe the overall feel of your event?

The feel of our event was very elegant and classic. The background of the ocean created the picture perfect background for a black tie evening!

Where will your honeymoon be?

The Big Island of Hawaii

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?

Enjoy it!! It is easy to get stressed out about the little details, but the most important thing is to soak up every moment. On the wedding day, you won’t notice the little things that stressed you out. Focus on being in the moment during the planning process.

What are you enjoying most about newlywed life?

We love getting to cook together in the evenings. It has been so much fun spending time together and trying new recipes. After a busy year of planning we are enjoying relaxing together.
