Our Bride Sydney was married to Luke at The Acre Orlando in September. Her gorgeous ceremony was tied together by the best of the best in Central Florida vendors (yes, we mean Kelly’s Ice Cream). Showered with wild flowers, earthy tones - Sydney and Luke’s wedding was a boho dream.

After trying on just one dress, Sydney found her dream gown. Styled by Roberta Noronha, Syndey wore ‘Dalas’ by Pronovias. Below, Sydney shares how she was hesitant about a veil at first, but it ended up being her favorite accessory!

How did you & Luke meet?

We met at work! We both were servers and the first time I saw him was in the restaurant's kitchen. We locked eyes and I just knew immediately I wanted him to be mine. The rest is history!

Where was your first date?

The first thing that comes to mind isn't technically a "first date", but one of my first and most favorite nights together. We ran into each other at a bar on Halloween shortly after meeting at work. I was with my friends and he was with his, but we ended up ditching and spending the whole night together!

How did Luke propose?

So this one of my favorite stories to tell because we think it's pretty funny and very us. I went to North Carolina on a snowboarding trip with Luke and his family. It started out as such a fun trip and then everything quickly went sour. I mean everything! The fog was so bad we could barely snowboard, our dog got lost in the mountains and we spent countless hours trying to find him (but we did!), everyone got very sick and spent most of the trip in the bathrooms... So many unfortunate events, but all memories made! So many things got in his way of proposing and he got tired of waiting. So, on our last day there he came into the bathroom while I was getting ready for the day and got down on one knee and popped the question. Right in the bathroom.... He later told me he initially wanted to propose at the bottom of the mountain after snowboarding with champagne in hand and family around, but I wouldn't change a thing!

What was your wedding dress shopping experience like?

I started my dress shopping at a large bridal warehouse. There were so many people and so many dresses. I quickly got discouraged because I felt rushed and wasn't loving anything I was trying on. We left knowing our next stop was the Bridal Finery and I was so excited. I remember pulling up with my friends and family and seeing my name on a sign outside the shop. I instantly felt special and knew this was going to be such a better experience! I loved that I was the only bride there and had the shop to myself. I was greeted by Roberta and she was a dream! So helpful and treats her brides with such genuine care. The dress selection was amazing and the very first dress I tried on, I knew was the one. We all teared up and I felt so beautiful. I tried on a few more, but couldn't stop thinking about the first dress. I said yes to the dress and we celebrated with pictures and champagne!

What bridal accessory was your favorite?

My favorite accessory was actually my veil! I originally didn't think I wanted to wear one or if I did, I imagined a simple and short one. When I was dress shopping, I had on the dress I fell in love with and Roberta paired it was a gorgeous cathedral length veil. She knew what she was doing! I instantly changed my mind on veils and was in awe with the length and statement it made. It also made for some incredible veil shots with the photographers.

What do you love most about your wedding at The Acre Orlando?

The uniqueness! It was the first venue we toured and both Luke and I knew it was the one right away. We loved all the greenery and cactus! I remember entering the gates and feeling like we weren't in Orlando anymore.

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?

Some things are simply out of your control when planning! Dealing with so many vendors and people, things can go wrong. Not always, but they can. I would get so stressed out at first when things would fall through and I finally realized I couldn't control everything and it will all work out. It all comes together in the end!

How would you describe the overall feel of your event?

The first word that comes to mind is fun! The decor was seamless and beautiful, but still boho and wild! Everything went so smoothly and I just remember everyone on the dance floor in the rain having so much fun. Dancing, singing, and lots of beer sprayed in the air! lol!

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?

If you can, buy a planning journal and hire a day of coordinator! The journal gave me to-do lists and kept me organized. Also, a fun memory to look back on one day. I'm a sentimental person like that! Day of coordinator was a must for me. Jess with Blush was incredible and worked so hard to bring all the details together at the end of the planning process. The week before the wedding we had some big things fall through and Jess was there to save the day. She also ensured everything went smoothly day of and we had the absolute perfect day!

Where will your honeymoon be?

We actually haven't gone on one yet. I'm still in school and my schedule hasn't allowed! Hopefully a big Europe trip once I graduate.

Experiencing all the big milestones together and creating so many memories. We've purchased our first home and are growing our family! I adore doing life with Luke!
