Note from Her Bridal Stylist:
When Chelsey booked her bridal appointment, I was so excited to help her! I helped her sister a few years back find her dream satin ballgown dress. It’s always fun helping another member of the same family because their personal styles are different. Every time Chelsey visited the bridal shop, we enjoyed catching up with her and her mom. They are so warm and appreciative and I’m so thankful to have styled two beautiful sisters from the Kohler family!
Love, Tali
What bridal accessory was your favorite?
My dress!!! Ok, thats not an accessory. My earrings :)
How did you & Ronnie meet?
My sister's boyfriend at the time (now brother-in-law) threw me a birthday party at his house. He was friends with Ronnie from high school and so Ronnie was at the party.
Where was your first date?
Resort in Orlando, FL. Dinner at their dining room!
What was your wedding dress shopping experience like?
Full of different emotions. Grateful, happy. Tali and Roberta were absolutely wonderful to work with. Helpful, excited and they had such positive energy. Even when things got hectic. Truly made it feel like a personal experience.
What do you love most about your wedding venue?
It truly had a magical feel to it. It’s a historical old southern venue with such charm. Every event for the wedding was walking distance. Including to their sleeping rooms!
How did your partner propose?
On August 31, 2019, Ronnie, Chelsey and Chelsey's Mom took a walk on the Manasquan, NJ boardwalk on the most perfect day. It's a quaint shore town where Chelsey's mom spent her childhood summers and where they spent many summer vacations during Chelsey's childhood. Ronnie didn't quite know exactly when he was going to pop the question. He just knew he wanted it on this trip, with her mom there to witness it. As they were walking down the boardwalk, admiring all of the beautiful homes, they came across a small very old house that had been damaged during hurricane Sandy in 2012. Chelsey's mom explained that the house was actually the first house she and her family had rented once they became too large a family to vacation at her grandparent's house. Ronnie knew this was the spot. He covertly asked Chelsey's mom to take a picture of them two in front of the house. After the second picture, Ronnie got down on one knee and popped the question, leaving Chelsey, her mom and surrounding beach onlookers in total surprise! We later learned from the house's neighbor, the house will be torn down next year. Perfect timing Ronnie! Two girls from a nearby house who witnessed it, were kind enough to bring them a bottle of champagne and glasses to celebrate on the spot!
What is one thing you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?
To really take it in. Not just be on autopilot.
How would you describe the overall feel of your event?
M A G I C A L
What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?
No matter what twists and turns you face during it, keep positive. God can create beauty from ashes with anything! We were so bummed that we had to push our wedding back 6 months. In the end, it was the best thing that could have happened for us. It causes us to get married during Christmas time (which is just the most magical experience ever there at the Island).
