Where was your first date? : It was in Winter Park, Florida in the beautiful park avenue area.
How did your partner propose? : On February 22, 2018, Christopher texted me around lunch time suggesting that we go for a walk after work to continue our New Year’s Resolution of exercising more. Though I agreed to go, I was not too excited about this suggestion as I was having a rough day. Little did I know, that my day was about to get a whole lot better! Christopher and I met up in a nice neighborhood in Winter Park and began to walk one of our favorite paths. In the beginning of the walk I made it very clear that I did not want to be walking that day and that I wanted to go home, shower, cook dinner, and relax. The thing that I did not know was that Christopher had not slept the night before due to his nerves setting in on whether or not I would like how he wanted to propose. I have a huge passion for sign language so as the walk began Christopher brought up the topic of how to sign different things we came across along the walk. He asked me how to sign lake house, tree, we even saw an Owl in a tree so he asked me how to sign Owl. As Christopher and I were getting closer to the area that Christopher wanted to propose his heart started racing more and more as he knew the moment was coming. The funny part is that in order to get to the bridge that Christopher wanted to propose on we had to make a right in which I said let’s not go that way today and mix it up. Christopher said “it adds an extra half mile let’s not be lazy.” I was not thrilled to add distance to the walk but agreed. What I did not know about that bridge that they had crossed over so many times was that the bridge was a very special place for Christopher and his family. The bridge was an area that his Dad and Mom would walk to while his Dad was battling cancer and was where he would stop to catch his breath before walking back to their home. As Christopher and I got closer to the bridge Christopher said to me “I know how to say I love you in sign language but how do I say I love you so much?” I responded showing Christopher. Then as we were walking up the bridge Christopher looks at me and says “Well I learned something this week.” I then looked at him wondering what he is about to say. At this point, we were right in the middle of the bridge and the sun was beginning to set reflecting in the water. Christopher then began to propose but he did it in American Sign Language. As he was signing, I was saying the words out loud. He did it slowly to make sure he did not mess up and I slowly repeated him signing “Will you marry me?” As I said the last of Christopher’s question, Christopher then dropped to his knee while pulling the ring out of his pocket and I was in complete and utter shock. I kept saying “that’s not real, that’s not mine, are you serious!” After a solid 45 seconds on his knee Christopher then asks me “…so… Is that a yes?” I smiled with great joy and said Yes!!
What was your dress experience like? : Effortless, I felt at ease trying on dresses. The moment Tali had me try on one of the dresses off of the rack, I was thinking “no way this will be my dress, it didn’t wow me when I was browsing the rack” but I went ahead and tried it on and man... am I happy I did, I fell in LOVE with that dress the moment i put it on! I will forever be grateful that Tali took that off the rack for me to just “try it on”!!
Where was your wedding? What did you decide on that space?: Highland manor
What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides? : Assign jobs to your bridesmaids and groomsmen for the wedding day, they are there to help! When it comes to packing up for the night give everyone a job to take stuff home so you and the groom not bothered on your special day!
