The Bridal Finery Attends New York Bridal Fashion Week: Behind The Scenes and Our Top Picks
Every April and October, designers, press, and buyers from all over the world travel to New York City to attend and showcase at Bridal Fashion Week. Designers spend months sketching, planning, and designing their collections to present to buyers and press. Months of work are shown in 15-minute fashion shows and hour-long buying appointments throughout long weekends in April and October. We attend Bridal Fashion Week as buyers. The designers present the collections and we strategically make decisions for what to purchase for our brides. Every bridal store makes their own individual buying decisions. Stores in Paris and Japan will make very different buying decisions than a store in Florida or California, for example. Press includes Social Media team members and influencers from blogs and publications like The Knot and Vogue Weddings. In New York, we were able to visit and explore designers and brands we are familiar and unfamiliar with. This allows us to research new lines while visiting and viewing our current collections. While in New York, we also took the time to enjoy ourselves. We got our hair done and enjoyed the city’s endless food options.

Before and after appointments, we took advantage of being in New York! We had so much fun taking advantage of all that New York City has to offer.
DryBar. To celebrate some goals we accomplished as a team, we got our hair blown out! Tali & Roberta love getting their hair washed and dried, so they couldn’t be more excited, however, I was beyond terrified. I have never had my hair blown out so I had no clue what to expect. I love my naturally curly and frizzy hair so I was nervous about not looking like myself. I am so happy I got my hair done! At first, I hated it, but as the day went on, the curls became frizzy and I felt more and more like me.
Food & Drinks. Who goes to New York and doesn’t want to eat a good meal? Our group of ladies love to eat. We are not picky eaters, and we’ll pretty much eat anything. Our favorite meals in New York were Italian and Thai cuisine. To kick off our New York trip, we ate at Eatally. This Italian marketplace near the Flatiron Building is a must for those visiting the city. Food lovers can walk around and purchase fresh pasta or gelato from a vendor or sit down for dinner at one of their feature restaurants. to end the trip, on a chilly Tuesday afternoon, we ate at Thai Villa for a delicious thai lunch. The warm and spicy asain meal was the perfect ending to an incredible Bridal Fashion Week. We can’t wait to go back in April! What restaurant recommendations do you have?
