A Day In The Life of Working at a Bridal Store in Orlando

Working at a Bridal Store in Orlando is a lot of product, industry knowledge and hard work!

The Bridal Finery opened in 2017 by two bridal stylists, Tali and Roberta. After years in the bridal industry it was time for them to start their own bridal store! When TBF first opened, they were primarily an off the rack boutique, now we specialize in bridal head to toe!

What is it like working in a Bridal Shop in Orlando?

Generally, it’s a lot of dealing with current and future clients! We are constantly in and out of appointments, texting and calling our brides and in constant communication with our designers and their team! We creative problem solve when the unthinkable happens, we help seamlessly connect our brides to the perfect vendors and provide expert bridal fashion styling advice.

  • In the morning we set the store for either bridal, alterations or accessories appointments - sometimes, all three!

  • When we have bridal or accessories appointments, one stylist helps the bride while the rest of the team aid in bringing in dresses, refreshments and accessories into the appointment.

  • When we have alterations appointment, someone from the TBF team and the seamstress help the bride throughout her appointment.

  • During trunk shows, it is all hands on deck! We are busy with brides and our store is packed with the newest in bridal fashion (this is my favorite time!).

  • At the end of the day we clean and set the store for the next day ourselves!

We can also be found snacking on a sweet or savory treat throughout the busy Bridal Finery days ;)

What happens during a bridal appointment at a bridal shop?

At our Orlando Bridal Shop, you are styled head to toe by one of our expert stylists! Prior to the appointment you can send over any wedding dress inspo so that our stylist can pull dresses you are interested in trying on.

How to Work at a Bridal Shop

It’s helpful to have some retail experience, because bridal shops are a retail business model. If you have food service experience or hospitality experience, it will help you get used to the retail type hours and working on weekends!

I would also recommend getting familiar with bridal fashion trends and styles - it’s not all ‘Say Yes to the Dress’! Making sure you are equipped with the knowledge to help all kinds of brides find their dream dress is what we do. You need to have great customer service skills and excellent communication skills!

Careers at a Bridal Shop

Bridal stylists are the most commonly known job to have at a bridal shop. At The Bridal Finery we also have someone in charge of operations, business development and marketing! We also have interns that help with daily operations to make sure everything for our brides is handled effectively and efficiently.

Hi, i’m Gracie!

The Bridal Finery was looking for a Marketing Intern and that’s when I entered the picture! Now as the full time Brand Coordinator, day to day, I execute content creation and implement marketing strategies to build The Bridal Finery brand. I also write a lot of the bridal fashion blogs (you should definitely check them out).

On extra busy days in the store, I’m helping my team during bridal appointments and alterations!

Quickly learning to be a jack of all trades has helped me a lot ;)

I was lucky enough to be hired around the same time as venue and bridal fashion expert, Bri Marbais!

After 7 years working at a local wedding venue, Bri transitioned to head of business development and a stylist here at The Bridal Finery! Now she styles brides, plans photoshoots and in store events!

Trying on Wedding Dresses in Orlando

At The Bridal Finery, we provide brides with any undergarments they may need during their bridal appointment. Once they have found a gown they love, we style them with bridal accessories like earrings and veils so they can see the look all together!

This is one of the first wedding dresses I tried on when I started as a marketing intern at The Bridal Finery! She was an Ines Di Santo gown.

Yes! I do try on lots of wedding dresses. It’s the best way to show our brides how the dress actually looks on a real person! I mainly try on wedding gowns for content creation, however, one time I even got to try on a black wedding dress for a print shoot! This was a very cool experience.
